What is this about?

The Overarching Philosophy

Everything Is Investing is a way of seeing the world—and yourself—more clearly. At its core, the philosophy starts with a simple but demanding truth: every day, whether we intend to or not, we are allocating our limited resources of time, energy, and money toward future outcomes.  There is no neutral.  Every choice is a deposit into, or a withdrawal from, an account.  Over time, those deposits compound, and the balances of those accounts become our lives.

Some people already understand investing as it relates to money.  Fewer realize that the same rules govern health, relationships, career, learning, leadership, reputation, and purpose.  These areas behave like portfolios, because they ARE portfolios.  They respond to consistency, discipline, and patience.  They punish neglect and reward intentionality.  Trade-offs are always in play.  And they rarely deliver outcomes that are disconnected from the direction and size of the investments made.

Everything Is Investing is not about optimization or perfection.  It is about ownership.  It asks better questions: For what purpose? What am I actually investing in?  What am I expecting returns from without making deposits? What do I say I care about with my investments, not just with my words?  Why am I surprised by the outcomes I invested toward?  It reframes frustration and disappointment not as bad luck, but as feedback—signals that resources may be misallocated or expectations misaligned.

A central idea of the philosophy is that results are rarely accidental.  Compounding works quietly, in both directions.  Small, repeated investments—good or bad—eventually grow large enough to dominate outcomes.  This is why two people can face the same circumstances and experience radically different results.  Account size creates resilience or fragility.  Trajectory determines eventual outcomes.

Everything Is Investing is also a rejection of short-term thinking.  It favors progress over hacks, consistency over intensity, and durable systems over motivation.  It recognizes that meaningful outcomes almost always lag the investments that cause them—and that patience, when paired with effective effort, is a powerful and rarely-defeated force over time.

Most importantly, the philosophy is practical.  It is meant to be lived, not admired.  It is applied through habits, trade-offs, routines, focus, and the willingness to make hard decisions about what truly matters.  It acknowledges limits, embraces responsibility, and treats life not as something that happens to us, but as something we are actively managing.

As it relates to you right now, Everything Is Investing is an invitation: to take ownership of your inputs, to think longer-term, and to invest with intention in the areas of life you say you care about—because over time, you get what you invest in.

Good day, investors! I'm Jared Bowers

Jared Bowers, CFA

Portfolio Manager | Educator | Host of Vested

Jared is a professional portfolio manager, educator, and the host of Vested with Jared Bowers.  He serves as Portfolio Manager at Vestura Wealth Management, where he oversees investment strategy and security research for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families across the country.  His work focuses on long-term business ownership, disciplined decision-making, and helping families build durable wealth through sound fundamentals and a proven investment approach.

Through nearly two decades in professional investing, Jared has managed complex portfolios, advised successful entrepreneurs and executives, and worked closely with families navigating both opportunity and volatility.  His approach to portfolio management emphasizes clarity, discipline, and a long-term perspective—prioritizing process over prediction and fundamentals over noise.

Why Vested?

While Jared’s professional work involves managing significant wealth, he founded Vested to address a broader challenge he observed repeatedly: many people struggle not because they lack effort or ambition, but because they need a clear framework and tools for allocating their limited resources well.

Vested was created to translate approaches used in professional investing into practical tools for everyday life.  The podcast focuses on ownership, trade-offs, discipline, and long-term thinking—applying proven portfolio management concepts to decisions around work, health, relationships, leadership, and purpose.

The goal of Vested is not to offer shortcuts or empty motivation, but to provide real education, durable frameworks, and mental models that help people make better decisions over time.

Beyond the Portfolio

Jared is deeply committed to education and teaching.  For nearly a decade, he has volunteered his time teaching investing and personal finance to high schoolers, helping students learn to think like business owners and view the world through an investor’s lens.  He also serves as Board Chairman of Providence Academy in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

A practitioner of his own ideas, Jared is a self-described “routinized investor" in his health, habits, and relationships, frequently drawing parallels between fitness, money, and life.  He lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with his wife and three children, investing in what he describes as true wealth: pursuing his purpose with clarity, ownership, and meaningful investment into the areas he cares about.

He is an avid weightlifter (powerlifting, bodybuilding) and cyclist (road, gravel, mountain) with big athletic ambitions only held back by his lack of specific focus and modest physical abilities... ;)
